Funding and Communications Officer

We are a community-based non-profit trust, and social enterprise. Our vision is to promote sustainable, culturally-valued, and inclusive development through education, training, campaigns and business. SDETAT is a Life Skills Development and Training Trust and Shakti Member Organisation that delivers free educational, vocational and life skills programmes to violence survivors, supporting learners toward wellbeing, empowerment and self-sufficiency. SDETAT has origins in Shakti Womans Refuge Trust, but it has grown and developed in its own right to expand services to the wider community, and focus on sustainable development goals. Shakti Womans Refuge Trust is a 27-year-old not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the well-being of migrant refugee women and families of Asian, Middle Eastern and African origins.

SDETAT is looking for a Funding & Communications Officer to support our team and wide range of important work. Your place in the organisation will be to manage funding sources for our activities, as well as supporting our training organisation and social enterprise activities with communications and marketing tasks. Full time or part time is depending on applicant suitability.

Here is what your day may look like:
Engaging in the development and writing of funding applications.
Work cohesively with the leadership team to source funding opportunities, build and maintain relationships with current stakeholders and develop new ones.
Develop avenues for one-off donations from supporting individuals and organisations.
Complete accountability reports within a tight deadline.
Representing our organization at various meetings within networks, advocating for the cause and for the organization with strategic partners.
Developing/implementing publicity and communications strategies for SDETAT training programmes for community members and skilled professionals.
Maintaining our 2 websites, improving SEO.
Supporting the Sustinnoworx social enterprise with marketing tasks and strategies, social media, and the Zero Textile Waste campaign.
Oversee the online store alongside retail managers.
Hybrid working schedule offered- some support in our retail stores may be required.

Skill/Qualifications
Ideally have qualifications in Business/Marketing, Communications
Must have experience in a funding role for a non-profit organisation, including writing funding applications and accountability reports.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ideally have lived experience as a cultural minority.
Ability to write advocacy letters, do publicity and communication planning and deliver them, be able to build brand equity and generate positive financial outcomes.
Ability to build key relationships and networks while influencing partnering agreements.
Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite
Versed in Meta Business Suite, Meta advertising, Google advertising.
Ideally experienced in navigating WordPress website backend and improving SEO.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
